Carter Gets Cool Reception in Israel
Mr. Carter, the globe-trotting known peacemaker has no plans to meet any of Israel’s key players: Prime Minister Olmert, the foreign minister, Tzipi livni, or the defense minister, Ehud Barak. His week’s long visit began yesterday. The head of Israel’s archenemy Hamas, Khaled Mashaal, compared the Jewish state’s policies to apartheid.
